SoDu Counseling Services, PLLC provides counseling services for children, adolescents, and young adults in south Durham and the surrounding areas. I specialize in working with children and adolescents who are experiencing concerns related to emotion management, coping skills, self-esteem, behavior, and anxiety. My approach focuses on using the client's strengths to address his/her current needs through cognitive-behavioral techniques. Strategies may be taught and practiced through talking, artwork, activities, games, and role-play. My goal is to provide a safe and trusting environment so that situations or strategies can be processed, practiced, and reinforced. Ultimately, we work together to promote independence and an improvement outside of therapy sessions.
I'm also a provider of Stepping Stones Triple P services. This is a program for parents experiencing specific parenting or child behavior problems (for children up to 12 yrs), specifically for children who have a disability and/or are at risk of developing behavior problems. Stepping Stones Triple P services can be provided independently for parents, or in conjunction with private therapy services.
